As you know, it’s my first time exploring subscription boxes. It’s late, I know, but still thought I would share my thoughts. From what I saw on the website, each month Birchbox teams up with a brand to create their boxes. This month, they teamed up with Ohh Deer. I absolutely love Ohh Deer stationery so thought I may like this box.
It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. It came in a small, pink parcel. The actual box itself was beautifully designed with flamingos and looked like a drawer. I can imagine if you had a few of them, it would look nice. There was no tissue paper, just the products with a booklet and a discount card.
The box came with 4 out of the 5 products that were in the booklet, which is rather disappointing. The box cost £10 plus £2.95 postage fee. It came with the following:
-Lord and Berry full size concealer stick in Beige RRP £12
-Paul and Joe Beauty moisturising foundation primer in 01 Dagree RRP £24
-NUXE shower oil RRP £10.50
-Afterspa make up remover £5.50
It should have also come with a Beaver professional daily conditioning spray RRP £11.50. That makes the box worth £63.50. However, the products that you get in this box are only sample size.
I haven’t yet used any of the products properly but from swatching and my first impressions, I’m honestly not that impressed but for the price, I can’t complain. My first point is that the shades for the concealer and the Paul and Joe Beauty primer are way to light for my skin tone. The other thing was that there’s an item missing. Never the less, the products smelt pleasant and felt soft on my skin. It made me wonder if the sample sizes would realistically be enough to last a whole month, as this box is a monthly subscription box.
